Medjool Restaurant Lounge

This restaurant is so spectacular. I have to review it.

My review:
"I will definitely go back to Medjool again. Medjool has a nice patio where you can seat outside, wait for table or friend's arrival. The restaurant indoor is huge, with high ceiling, and lot of seats available. I was told the rooftop is the place for happy hour, so I waited no time and went upstairs. The view from the rooftop terrace is breathtaking and magnificent. The crowd is mostly mid 20-30s. The best time to go there is early evening before 7pm. It's really windy so remember to wear a windbreaker or jacket. I managed to snap a few photos of the fog rolling in. It was an eye-catching view. You gotta see great views of downtown, twin peaks, UCSF, bay bridge... I'm so digging this place. But, the only problem is looking for parking in mission neighborhood. I managed to find parking on 21st/Valencia parking garage. Parking spaces are limited here, if garage is full they'd close the gate. Oh, when you ride the Medjool's elevator, it has a note saying "no credit card, cash only". I wish they'd be more flexible on credit card, so I dont have to worry about getting cash."

Edwyn's review:
"Like the rooftop terrace of Medjool - this is the reason to go here. Great views of downtown, twin peaks, and the mission/24th area. The chicken kebabs and the appetizer sampler - very tasty in my opinion - the hummus was just right for me. The house white wine - Terra Sola was very tasty but was marketed as a chardonay - but its sweetness was more like a resling or other dessert wine. Service here can be hectic and sometimes you need a lighter to read your bill - maybe they should have christmas lights to illuminate the rooftop better but keep the ambiance the same - i understand that candles would probably be not a good idea do to the windy nights (especially at dusk). I suggest getting the kebab sampler if you are with a group of 4 or more people. For groups smaller, just a couple of items will suffice. Service was okay not stellar. They don't take credit cards up in the terrace are - so make sure you have cash or use the ATM on the first floor."

No free cologne bag!

My friend Edwyn left a broken cologne bag at my palce and I didn't find out until today. He left it underneath my couch, pretty smart ass huh! Anyway, it was a bag where he purchased a cologne, he got it as a free gift. But the thing is he broke the bag handle before he arrived in San Francisco. We met in downtown for lunch and some shopping. I helped him to carry the broken CK bag from downtown to my apartment. Yes, it was so heavy I almost injured my shoulder(ouch*). I still can't believe he left it at my place without telling me tho'. I had to take a picture for a good laugh!

Silkscreen Printing

I just found out they are offering silkscreen printing classes in berkeley, CA. I always want to take classes on how to make your own t-shirts. It doesn't take much to start. All you need is a place to clean screens like a bathtub or big sink and nice fabrics. I remembered I took a class from hight school but it was rather a simple project. It's only $190 for 4 weeks. It sounds like a fun class to take for summer.

Krung Thai Restaurant

Krung Thai Restaurant(left) Amita and husband 'Prajwol'

We went to Krung Thai restaurant for Amita's birthday. This restaurant is mediocre. Service was extremely fast to the point where I felt like they were rushing us to serve the next table. Our waitstaffs kept asking us if we were ready to eat...even though all of us hadn't arrived yet. When 2 friends couldn't make it to dinner because of an emergency. The restaurant manager chided at us. He said, "Next time tell us sooner, so we don't have to waste our time." I'm like what? Who's the customer here? If it wasn't the tom yum soup, you'd get 1 star. You'd see my review on every restaurant review website. They just messed around with the wrong person! Prajwol was really pissed off too. He told me if tips weren't included, he would leave zero dollar!

Before The Movie...

After chaunce's graduation ceremony, Aisling and I went to catch a movie at Jack London Square. We didn't have any time for lunch, so we snuck in a footlong chicken sandwich. Man, that was the best sandwich that I'd ever had. We asked for a brownie bag instead of plastic bag. We matched into the theatre without any hesitation. I know the security guard was watching us. But, we did it! Aisling and I were munching our sandwiches in the movie theatre. The sandwich was good! Who cares if the lady sitting next to me can smell my D-licious sandwich!!! hehehe...I felt like a high school kid.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

This show is damn hysterical. It didn't get a good review on newspapers but I loved it. If you dont like Brat Pitt or Angelina Jolie, the show will make you fall in love with them. They're just prefect for each other. Brat is hot and Angelina is so sexy! Aniston, what?!

Father's Day

Father's day is around the corner, I don't want to be a last-min shopper who ends up getting the wrong gift. Thus, I decided to go Macy's and bought him a Polo shirt. My dad loveees anything with Polo or the pony logo. He has a tan skin toned, so I got him a light green or babie blue shirt...but I don't know if he'd like the color. For me, I like the pink pony embroidery stitches on the shirt. It kinda matches the whole color. What do you folks think? Last year I bought my mom's flowers for mother's day and forgotten about my dad. So, I hope he'd like my gift this year and won't be disappointed...I care about my dad even how money-minded he was or how dysfunctional I was brought up.. I still love you dad!

September 17th

"Buddhism Teaches, Through the example of Bodhisattva Never Disparaging, to never look down on anyone. This is the essence of Buddhism. Nichiren Daishonin states that the "ultimate transmission" of Buddhism is to accord friends and fellow believers who are striving for koren-rufu the same respect and reverence one would a Buddha." Dialy Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda.

Since you've been gone

...I used the fuck word multiple times just to make myself comfortable.
...I signed up for Costco, so I could go there anytime.
...I went and get my own munipass without you giving me a guilt trip.
...I dont have to concern your strong accent when you repeatedly ask for water.
...I can leave my place without worries that you might be wandering outside.

....I can pick up calls without anonymous numbers.
...I feel serene without any verbal abused.
...I dont have to eat fatty desserts cause I never like it.

....I feel peaceful at lunch or where ever i dine.
...I live my life without pet peeve on weight-conscious talks.

...I turn to radio stations that play my favorite music.
...I'd hang out with my "sincere" friends and you can hang with your dorky "MBA" friends.

Since you've been gone
...I start a new chapter of my life, a happier one.

...I see the rights and wrongs, why you never want me to be happy.
...I can be myself and breathe normal again.

...I am more independent and confident.
...I'd devote more time to buddhist meeting.

...I begin to clean my karma, not doubt myself
...I can hear my cheerful voice again, not dark and depressing.

...I will meet friends and build my social life, without covetousness.
...I build my own business and contacts, and i'd make it work.
...I begin to trust and not avoiding my friends again.
...I'd travel to new places for vacation and tell all my friends about it.
...I will succeed without your criticism.
...I'll win over this lifetime and lifetime after.

Monterey Jellyfish

I went to Monterey Bay Aquarium last weekend and I got riped off. The aquarium is smaller than San Francisco and you dont get to see many fishes...All they had in the aquarium were jellyfishes...Man, i have never seen so many spices of jellyfishes in my entire life. I mean I did see pengiuns, sharks, and tuna fishes but everything else was jellyfishes..boy, i paid $22 , no AAA discounts, no student discounts...not sure if i wanna bring my mom and sisters to Monterey bay now...

Again, Rockstar Addiction!!!

Sorry mom and sis, I have to stock up my rockstar! I bought a whole case of regular rockstar from costco and had to get diet from safeway. Costco doesn't sell diet... by the way, diet rockstar is running out in the city. I barely find any...if you find any stock them up~

Summer Travel

Is it possible to travel 3 places in 2 weeks? My 2 sisters and mom from out of town are visiting middle of July. They want to visit 3 major cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas in 2 weeks. My sister, Jeannie, has been aching me to bagpack and travel all places in West Coast. Initially, we talked about visiting Seattle and Oregon. But, I don't think we have time to cover northwest. However, my plan is to spend a few days in San Francisco. I'd show them around downtown Union Square, take a cable car ride to Fisherman's Whraf, jump on a ferry to Alcatraz, golden gate park, golden gate bridge and bay bridge, haight and Ashbury, italian and china town. Then, we'd probably head down to Vegas and spend 3-4 nights. I'm planning to bring them to world renounce Cirque De Soleil, Celine Dion's concert, Mandalay bay Spa, Grand Canyon, Fashion mall, Tao's restaurant...man, that's just so many places to go in Vegas. From Vegas, we can drive to Los Angeles and spend few days there. I don't enjoy LA very much. Beside all shoppings and disneyland, I really don know where to go. I find LA for shoppers and starstrucks...booorrinnggg!

Anyway, Is it possible to go 3 different cities in 2 weeks?

Gag me with a Spoon

Have you guys read the story about 49ers Hall of shame and 49ers PR, Kirk Reynold? He made a training video that was supposed to encourage good behavior for 49ers but instead it turned into a sexist and racist video material. The training video posted him as mayon of san francisco, cavorting with topless dancers, scoffing gay marriage, and talking with a man in chinatown with exaggerated accent. After watching the video, I'm completely speechless. I dont know what to call this. I can't believe they'd make such racist and hideous remarks. The thing I hate about this, the players were confronted and dared to confess it was supposed to be an in house joke and shouldn't upset anyone or gone out of proportions. I mean, what the fuck were you thinking when you made this video and broadcast it to everyone? Are you that blond and tasteless?
