Dirty your Shade? Want a New One?

Oh no, my friend david left a stain on his lamp shade. He then bought a shade cleaning scrub from restoration hardware that was supposed to clean the stain off but instead it got worse. So he decided to bring the shade and scrub back to get a refund and replacement. This is how he does it without having to pay a dime on the shade.

1. That's a stain on my shade, what should I do?
2. Be prepared, be very mad. Dont make me laugh!

3. Make the stain more visible by rubbing on the discoloring spot.
4. Find a nice saleperson at the store and bombard with him/her. Remember aiming at the right saleperson is the key.

5. Oh yeah babe. New shade! David said, "See I told u, when you buy it from an expensive store, they'd replace you a new one without any hesistation."
6. Smiling like a happy man.

  • One thing good about shopping in USA is that customers can exchange and refund easily - I just cannot imagine a store that sells lousy cleaning scrub would compensate a brand new shade to a customer in HK!

  • david needs to write a book. if you think of it restoration hardwarare charges so much for lampshades. i was thinking about stopping over at RH this weekend to buy a coverlet. Now i'm thinking twice because of all the drama that happened this weekend.
